Today we join our hostess at her timeshare for Murder in Manhattan . A classy murder mystery full of fun, creativity, and excitement surely made for a memorable time.
Unfortunately, our hostess has been a cancer patient for the last two years. However, between that and Covid, she had ample time to work out every detail to host the perfect murder mystery. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade!
We changed some names and added gossip to fit our group. We went all out on everything and people really got into their characters and costumes. I made special name tags that we were able to attach with magnets, and had prizes and awards for everyone.
As you can see, she decorated the time share with photos of New York and added special lighting for ambiance.
I also had folders with their name and picture, their character pages and guest list, pen and voting list (all on parchment quality paper).
Our hostess truly went all out! There was a cocktail party featuring a gourmet dinner and white chocolate statues of liberty. The dinner table was beautifully decorated and there was even balloons and a police line up.
My sister and I made up some additional gossip because we had so many characters. We started sharing gossip and getting into character earlier in the week (this was great fun and helped those who were nervous about their part get comfortable. We did allow 3 men to come for this event because it helped even out characters. We also changed some male characters to female.
It’s always nice to see a good murder come together without a hitch. Murder mystery, that is. We hope our hostess and all of her friends had fun playing Murder in Manhattan and we can’t wait to assist you in hosting your next murder mystery party.
