Add intrigue to your next party with this murder mystery game, set at a British intelligence agency.
Your guests will be playing the roles of members of a British intelligence agency, which is celebrating the success of its 5-year mission to take down the head of an international spy ring.
Longtime mission commander Sir Charles Oweing proudly makes a toast to the group, but his words are cut short as he grabs his chest in pain, falls to the ground, and dies in front of the shocked audience. The team scrambles to make sense of the situation, immediately pointing fingers at one another, until a clue reveals that things are worse than they realized…
A mysterious package sent just before his death contains a note suggesting that Sir Charles was killed as revenge for the capture today. Team members fear their is a double agent in their midst. Could it be misdirection? If not, then who is the traitor among them?
Secret Agent: Dead is Forever is suitable for 8 guests (or 8 couples), including the host or hostess. The available guests include:
* = Optional character
Our line of 30 Minute Mysteries is specially designed for fast setup and easy play, whether your playing in-person or virtually over video chat.
All you need to do is:
If you’re playing in person, you have the option of printing out the hosting script and character sheets, or you and your guests may view them on your electronic devices.
Best of all, the party facilitator can choose whether they join in the game and solve the mystery along with the other guests!
While this mystery has 8 primary characters, it is designed to accommodate any number of additional players. See the “Expanded Game for Large Groups” section below if you have more than 8 players.
Each of the players will be assigned a character and given a character sheet that explains who or what their character is, what information their character knows, and how their character should respond to events that occur during the game.
The game will progress in rounds.
Round One will start with the party’s host or hostess reading a script that explains the nature of the mystery that is afoot. After the introduction is read, each player at the table will share a piece of information from their character sheet, which will often be met by a response from another player.
Round Two begins with the host sharing a clue that should shed further light on the mystery. After the clue is revealed, the players will once again go around, providing another piece of information.
Round Three, the final round, begins with the host sharing the last clue. The players then go around the table a final time, sharing their last piece of information.
By this point, the players should have enough information to piece together a theory about who was responsible for the crime. Everyone will vote for the culprit, which the host will then reveal. Any player or couple who correctly guessed the identity of the killer is declared a winner.
From start to finish, the game typically requires half an hour to complete.
Our 30 Minute Mysteries are specifically designed to not require very much in the way of supplies. All you need is:
If you have more than 8 players, there are three ways that you can accommodate everyone:
Both the standard and expanded games are included with the purchase of any game kit.

John –
Headline Fun night for all
Nickname John
Theme Highlights Dressed up. Place cards with character names. Picked characters ahead of time.
Lots of fun! Lots of laughter. Took a round for the boys to get the hang of it. They got into the acting and accents. So much fun in fact we are doing another one this week.

Theme Highlights Dress up as spies. Might be good to have character read their lines in the clues.
Lots of fun. The boys got into it with the acting and accents. Lots of laughter. Appreciated the help to update that characters to all male for our activity.

The whole experience was hilarious. We mixed up all the directions at first- yet that made it all the funnier as we read lines that were way out of context. When we finally got it together, the result was still funny as people went off script, spoke in strange accents and generally just had a great time. Loved it

Headline Play it with British Accents!!

Menu Highlights In keeping with the MI-6 theme, we made a traditional British meal: Shepherds Pie along with "adult" English Tea and Biscuits.
Theme Highlights We fully decorated the room! Given we did this right after Christmas, we got wrapping paper to dress up the walls to match the theme. Used every computer and screen with different "spy" screens we found on YouTube and made a few props based on the events in the game. It was great and everyone had a blast.
The game was fun! We did ours as if it was “MI-6” headquarters and to make it more interesting, we had everyone talk in a British accent the whole night. We loved it. Dressed up our house and found awesome fake screens on YouTube, etc. Definitely recommend doing all of the decor and setting the space. This is what made the game. Without that, the script is rather short and I’m not sure it’s possible, based on the dialogue, to actually figure out who the murder is. There weren’t very specific clues. And the dialogue order isn’t the clearest. But even still, it was good fun.
To the game writers, I have a suggestion: include a list of the pieces hosts can make actual props for in the “Green Sheets”. I tried to quickly skim the Plot sheets because I wanted to be able to play the game as well, but I missed a couple of the best ones since I didn’t want to read it too closely and spoil it for myself.

Headline Fun game!

Theme Highlights This was a last-minute idea so we didn't really do anything for a theme.
Got together outside with family on our outdoor patio to play this game while social distancing. It was fun! Everyone really enjoyed the mystery and really got into character.
