Amanda is the host of Mardi Gras, Masks, Murder and she sure does know how to create the perfect atmosphere!
Amanda chose our Mardi Gras themed murder mystery, Mardi Gras, Masks, Murder. Character information went out a month in advance and Amanda even set up a Facebook event in order to communicate with the guests.
The Facebook event kept up the excitement and anticipation.
The food spread was fantastique and included Cajun favorites like gumbo, po’boys, and red beans and rice. They finished with banana cream pie!
We transformed our dining room into the study and even found a desk online for $5 to add to the room. Everyone had a blast!
We found out that Amanda scoured peddler malls for “artifacts” to place around the “mansion”. Here’s what she had to say about some of the spectacular decor.
We set up candles (real and electric) throughout and turned our family room into the dining hall with a large table to seat 12 guests and had others eat around our kitchen table. We periodically shut the lights off, reminding everyone of the rolling blackouts headed our way. We also decorated our front yard with purple, green and yellow streamers and beads to set the tone. We also found a thunder sound machine to set up in the front so people knew a storm was coming and had a real tarot card reader set up to read peoples tarot cards. THIS was a huge hit!! Everyone loved having their tarot cards read!
We are très content (very pleased) that Amanda and her friends had such a good time with Mardi Gras, Masks, Murder and we can’t wait to hear about their next party!
