Add intrigue to your next party with this murder mystery game, set on a snow-stopped train.
You and your guests are passengers on the luxurious Oriental Express. Your fellow passengers number several unsavory characters, almost certainly up to no good. No one knows who they can trust, as everyone seems to have an ulterior motive.
Unexpectedly, the train is snowed in and one of the passengers is murdered. Fortunately, the famed detective Pardot is on board. With the help of your guests, the identity of the murderer should be discovered by the time the police arrive.
Now the guests must work together to sift through the evidence and identify the killer in their midst!
There are 15 primary suspects in this mystery, however only 10 are required to play the game. The host or hostess will play the role of Detective Pardot, who will enlist the aid of the other passengers in order to solve the mystery. Read the "How To Play" section for more information on how to play an expanded game with more than 15 guests.

Content Rating:
This party is rated adult. While there is no explicit material, the party does contain references to the following:
Note: this mystery is set during World War II, and is intended to be largely historically accurate. This means that the party includes numerous references to war and espionage, as well as Nazism. Characters are drawn from both the Allies and Axis parties, and a key plot point revolves around one of the characters being a former Nazi.
Difficulty:
This party is moderately complex to set up. We recommend a venue with at least two rooms and a sufficient area to hide clues for the scavenger hunt.
This party is difficult; the solution involves multiple steps, and may not be intuitively obvious to most players. Playtesters and clients have consistently marked this party as our most difficult to solve. This party also includes an optional logic puzzle mini-game.

Melissa –
Headline We all had a great time.
Nickname Melissa
Nobody got the killer correct and nobody really even attempted the secret agent puzzle, which was a bit too complicated and time consuming for most after few wines. But all in all it was a great success.

Headline Party went well
Nickname HH
I have now hosted two Mystery Party Kits and two 30 Minute Mysteries. I enjoyed all of them and how they were different from each other.
Terrible Castle of Baron Castaign:
It went very well. I used a home with multiple rooms and double used them all. The mortals barely won and the whole thing was quite fun. I have attached a picture of the group (in front of tv).
Last Stop Murder:
This also went very well. I ended up using just two rooms for the scavenger hunt and interactions. After the Terrible Castle, it had not occurred to me that you can do so much with so little. It also reminds me the importance of picking the right people for character roles. I have attached a couple pictures from this (murdered scientist under blankets followed by group shot).
A Pryce in Blood:
I greatly enjoyed being able to be surprised with everyone else. Also, the humor was excellent.
Don Carrasino and the Murdered Mobster:
This was also quite hilarious. These 30 minutes kits are ingenious. I also like that they can be used at a moment’s notice for innocent entertainment.
Conclusion:
One of the most important things I like about these is that they are kid friendly. Finding a mystery kit without profanities or sexual tangents is an immense relief. I am sure that I will be using these kits for years to come.
Maya –
Headline Great night! Puzzle was tough
Nickname Maya
Overall, we LOVED the game. The length was perfect, the characters were great, and the scavenger hunt was fun, and the plot twist actually surprised us. The puzzle was a little less successful, mostly for logistical reasons: it was tricky for all 13 (or 14?) characters to collectively participate in solving the puzzle. Maybe it would have been better if characters had been assigned to small “teams” to solve the puzzles–it would’ve kept everyone more engaged.
Thanks so much for giving us a wonderful way to spend a night!
